Syndie Court Shows Bounce Back After Election Preemptions
Court shows regained ground after a preemption-filled election week in first-run syndication, with a majority of the genre making ratings gains for the week ending Nov. 16.
CBS Television Distribution’s “Judge Judy” moved upward 9% to a 4.7 in household ratings from last week, marking a season high. Four other shows hit season highs during the week, including Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution’s “Judge Mathis” (1.9, up 12%) and “Cristina’s Court” (1.2, up 20%), as well as Twentieth Television’s “Judge Alex” (1.7, up 6%) and “Divorce Court” (1.6, up 14%).
CBS Television Distribution’s “Judge Joe Brown” (2.4) made gains of 14% from last week, while Warner Bros.’ “People’s Court” rose 10% to a 2.2. Sony Pictures Television’s “Judge David Young” also increased 13% to a 0.9.
In the freshman class in first-run, NBC Universal Television Distribution’s “Deal or No Deal” tied its series high with a 1.9, moving up 6%. CBS Television Distribution’s “The Doctors” also made the move, up 6%, to a ...
