HD programming picks for Jan. 8-14: “The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards,” “24” and “American Idol” “The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards” (NBC) Sun., Jan. 11, 8 p.m.: The stars come out to play as the Golden Globes air on NBC. HBO’s “True Blood” grabbed two nominations in its freshman year, battling against heavy-hitters like Showtime’s “Dexter” and Fox’s “House” in the drama category. “24” (Fox) Sun., Jan. 11, 8 p.m.: After a long hiatus, Jack Bauer is back to stop terrorists as the seventh season kicks off with a two-hour episode on Sunday, to be followed by another two-hour episode on Monday. “American Idol” (Fox) Tues., Jan. 12, 8 p.m.: A new season, a new judge. Songwriter Kara DioGuardi joins Simon, Paula and Randy to comb through the thousands of potential competitors to find musical diamonds in the rough. (link)
