Bucky Covington's "Gotta Be Somebody" joins Carrie Underwood's "Cowboy Casanova" and Kellie Pickler's "Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You" on the GAC Top 20 Countdown . He comes in at No. 19 on the chart. "Gotta Be Somebody" was directed by Devin Pense and features live performance video spotlights his hometown community of Rockingham, North Carolina, according to the official "American Idol" website . This is Bucky Covington's country version of the Nickelback #1 hit. What do we think? Good video? We were always a fan of Bucky's on "Idol." FOX and Carrie Underwood will try to put you in the seasonal spirit Monday night with a two-hour holiday special. The season four "American Idol" winner is the host and featured performer in "Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special," which has the feel of an old-school variety show and features a handful of comedy bits in addition to the music. Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley and fellow "Idol" champ David Cook are among the guests, and Underwood does a girl-group number with Kristin Chenoweth and Christina Applegate. But make no mistake -- this is Carrie's show, and judging by clips FOX has released she'll be front and center for just about the entire two hours (hey, her name's on the marquee, so why not?) Adam Lambert's controversial American Music Awards performance surprised many, including ABC, which claims this is why they uninvited the "American Idol" runner-up from three of their shows. The network told the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation ( GLAAD ) that dropping Lambert from "Good Morning America," "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and the upcoming New Year's Eve special had nothing to do with his sexual orientation but rather his unpredictable nature. "Since his American Music Awards performance occurred GLAAD has consistently advocated that Adam Lambert and openly gay artists not be held to a double standard," GLAAD said in a statement. "As we have expressed publicly, it is disappointing that ABC will not give Lambert a chance to perform at this time. GLAAD's discussions with ABC focused on confirming that his sexual orientation was not a factor in their decisions. Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson are Grammy Award veterans by now. They'll be joined at the 2010 awards by a couple of fellow "American Idol" alumni. Season two winner Ruben Studdard and season five finalist Mandisa each picked up the second Grammy nods of their careers on Wednesday. Studdard is part of the original cast recording of "Ain't Misbehavin'," which is up for best musical show album. Mandisa was nominated for best pop/contemporary gospel album for her effort "Freedom." Clarkson earned her fifth career nomination by scoring a nod for "All I Ever Wanted" as best pop vocal album, while Underwood was nominated twice: best female country vocal performance for "Just a Dream" and best country collaboration with vocals for "I Told You So" with Randy Travis. "American Idol" finalists Michael Sarver, Alexis Grace, David Hernandez and Gina Glocksen are getting their acts together and taking them on the road for the "American Stars in Concert for the Holidays" tour. The tour started Wednesday, Dec. 2 and continues through Sunday, Dec. 20, stopping in eleven cities. "American Idol" winner Adam Lambert tweeted Wednesday (Dec. 2), "Yes, sadly friends, ABC has canceled my appearances on Kimmel and NYE. :( don't blame them. It's the FCC heat." Apparently booting him off "Good Morning America" was not enough for ABC. Lambert's appearances on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and (we presume) "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest" have been canceled. You'd think Seacrest would have some sway there, maybe Dick Clark the stickler? Who knows. Lambert assures us that he is still doing Leno and he's looking into something to do for New Year's Eve. CBS doesn't traditionally have a New Year's Eve show, but perhaps "New Year's Eve with Carson Daly" would have Lambert. We're confident he'll have no problem lining up a gig. The annual White House Tree Lighting is Thursday, Dec. 3 and "American Idol" season 6 winner Jordin Sparks will be on hand to sing. Jordin is just one of several artists invited to the ceremony, which is traditionally when the President brings a message of peace to the nation before the giant White House Christmas tree is lit. The tree itself is a Colorado blue spruce planted in 1978. It was 30 ft tall when planted and today is 46 years old and stands almost 42 ft tall. Just a little botanical info for you guys. Kellie Pickler has already gotten something for Christmas: a new hair color. The newly auburn-haired "American Idol" season 5 finalist also has a new song out. She covers the gold-digging standard "Santa Baby" for the compilation "A Very Special Christmas, Vol. 7," the video for which is now on CMT.com . As for the new hair (which she's been sporting since the CMA Awards last month), it suits her just fine. As for the song, it's a pretty straightforward cover of the old standby, and she does a decent job with it. "Santa Baby" is not one of my personal holiday favorites, but Pickler wisely doesn't go too far over the top in laying out her very expensive Christmas list. "American Idol" winner Fantasia is getting her own reality show come Jan. 11, 2010. The stage actress and Grammy-nominated singer will be starring in her own reality series "Fantasia For Real," according to VH1. The eight-episode show will center on the single mother as she deals with fame, her career, and family. Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President, Original Programming & Production of VH1 said in a statement, "Our audience helped Fantasia become an American Idol and now, with this series, they get a backstage pass into her real life as she confronts obstacles to realize her true potential as an artist, a mother, a daughter and a sister." "American Idol" season 2 winner Ruben Studdard is releasing a new Christmas song titled "Christmas in Your Arms." Listen below. The single will be released Dec. 8, but you can listen to it streaming for Windows here or for Real Player here . It's really a nice, homey Christmas song. Ruben sings that he'd "be happy in the city" or "on the farm," he doesn't care where he spends Christmas as long as it's "in your arms." Awwww. He's the velvet teddy bear! Okay, not gonna happen, but Lambert does want to get close to Pattinson, Taylor Lautner , Kristen Stewart and the rest of the "Twilight Saga: Eclipse" cast. The singer tells MTV his song "Suburban Decay" would work for the vampire-werewolf-human romantic drama, though "Decay" didn't find a spot on his first album. "It's a great song and I hope to perform it someday, and I think it will find a home, on a soundtrack or something ... maybe 'Twilight,'" Lambert said. 'American Idol': New holiday albums hard to come by

Plenty of past "American Idol" contestants have albums out just in time for the holiday shopping season. But if you want new seasonal music from past Idols, the pickings are mighty slim. Only 2008 runner-up David Archuleta has released a full album of Christmas songs this season, and it's doing quite well: "Christmas from the Heart," a mix of traditional yuletide hymns and standards like "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "I'll Be Home for Christmas," ranked fifth on the Amazon music sales charts as of late Monday afternoon. Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler contributed songs to "A Very Special Christmas, Vol. 7," but that's it in terms of new holiday product from the "Idol" alumni this year. Another sign that network TV is falling behind cable -- the four big networks only represent 30% of the Producers Guild Awards , including comedies "30 Rock" and "The Office." Out of the four television categories, only six of the 20 PGA-nominated shows are from ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX. That's exactly what Walt Disney-owned ABC is doing after Lambert's much-talked about American Music Awards performance last week. Disney/ABC Television Group President Anne Sweeney told Reuters Monday, the network will review the steps it takes in preparing for live broadcasts of performers. Sweeney said ABC will now look to get assurances from artists that their stage shows will resemble their rehearsals, and use contractual obligations to hold them to that. "We certainly don't want to suppress artistry at any level, but we also have to be very cognizant of who our audience is," Sweeney said at the Reuters Media Summit on Monday. Taylor Hicks has been playing the Teen Angel in "Grease" for over a year and now Ace Young will join him as lead Danny Zuko, beginning on Dec. 1, according to Playbill. Clay Aiken turns 31 Monday (Nov. 30) and he's set a precedent for Adam Lambert. Not only is Aiken gay, but finishing as an "American Idol" runner-up did little to hurt his career success. Aiken has had a busy six years since "Idol" ended. He went multi-platinum with "Measure of a Man," came out of the closet, became a dad, appeared as a guest star on "Scrubs" and even had a Broadway run as Sir Robin in "Monty Python's Spamalot." 'American Idol': Listen to Allison Iraheta's 'Just Like You'

Allison Iraheta was the designated rocker girl on "American Idol" last season, but her album "Just Like You" reminds us of a more pop-minded past "Idol" contestant: Kelly Clarkson. The 13 tracks on "Just Like You" -- which are streaming on MySpace Music and IdolBlogLive -- are a collection of radio-ready pop songs with a slight edge provided by Iraheta's pleasingly raspy voice. She doesn't have the sheer power or range of Clarkson, but none of these tunes would sound out of place on a Clarkson record (no surprise there -- one of the producers Iraheta worked with, Max Martin, has also collaborated with Clarkson). It's a nice first effort for the 17-year-old, whose album goes on sale Tuesday (Dec. 1), a week after records from her fellow "Idol" season eight contestants Kris Allen and Adam Lambert hit stores. Both slots were new releases at the 2009 Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas. During an "Early Show" segment on "American Idol" Adam Lambert's same-sex kiss during the American Music Awards, CBS blurred a picture of the kiss. Ironically, Lambert had agreed to appear on "The Early Show" after ABC's "Good Morning America" cancelled a planned performance by Lambert in the wake of the controversy.
